Once again, Old Oaks Touring & Glamping Park are running coaches to this event for guests staying at their site on the weekend of 8th/9th Aug
Pack up your picnic basket, grab a couple of chairs and enjoy the thrill of this legendary open air music event, set in the glorious Glastonbury Abbey grounds.
Now into its' 31st(?) year, Glastonbury Extravaganza (run by the Eavis family of Glastonbury Festival), is a not to be missed, summer highlight for locals and visitors to our town. It's a real occasion, with stage screens, beautiful water fountains, lights, candelabra, picnics, and a fireworks finale.
Over the years, the Musical Extravaganza has staged many incredible performances (we know, we've been to one or two!), including Paloma, Madness, Paulo Nutini, George Ezra, Status Quo, Bryan Ferry, Ray Davies, Morrison and Catherine Jenkins to name but a few.
Why not make an evening of it?
Gates usually open at around 4.30pm and the music starts at 7pm. Regulars to the event like to make a real occasion of it and can be seen setting up tables with candlesticks and flowers, and sipping from champagne flutes (own alcohol is permitted), chatting and enjoying the atmosphere and ambience of the beautiful Abbey grounds.
Parking in Glastonbury on Extravaganza day can be notoriously difficult, so why not book a seat on the Old Oaks coach. This way, you can leave the car behind, maybe have a glass or two of the local tipple with no worries about parking or traffic jams.
Tickets for the event are available from the Glastonbury Abbey website or the Abbey shop and are expected to sell out quickly, as they always do.
Coach departs Old Oaks at 4pm. (subject to change when full details of event are available).
Returns from coach park (5 to 10 min walk from Abbey) at 11pm
