POSTPONED Glastonbury Extravaganza 2020 ~ Coach from Old Oaks
POSTPONED
In light of the current unprecedented circumstances – which include the temporary closure of the Glastonbury Abbey – we are sorry to announce that this year’s Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza will not now be able to go ahead.
All coach bookings will be rolled over to the 2021 event, as will any vouchers bought directly from Glastonbury Abbey.
We apologise that the event is not able to take place, but we look forward to welcoming you back to the abbey for next year’s Extravaganza.
Pack up your picnic basket, grab a couple of chairs and enjoy the thrill of this legendary open air music event, set in the glorious Glastonbury Abbey grounds.
Now into its' 24th year, Glastonbury Extravaganza (run by Michael Eavis of Glastonbury Festival), is a not to be missed, summer highlight for locals and visitors to our town. It's a real occasion, with stage screens, beautiful water fountains, lights, candelabra, picnics, and a fireworks finale.
Over the years, the Musical Extravaganza has staged many incredible performances (we know, we've been to one or two!), including Madness, Paulo Nutini, George Ezra, Status Quo, Bryan Ferry, Ray Davies, Morrison and Catherine Jenkins to name but a few.
In 2020 the event takes place on Saturday 1st August.
Why not make an evening of it?
Gates open at around 5pm and the music starts at 7pm. Regulars to the event like to make a real occasion of it and can be seen setting up tables with candlesticks and flowers, and sipping from champagne flutes (own alcohol is permitted), chatting and enjoying the atmosphere and ambience of the beautiful Abbey grounds.
Parking in Glastonbury on Extravaganza day can be notoriously difficult, so why not book a seat on the Old Oaks at just £8.50 per person, return. This way, you can leave the car behind, maybe have a glass or two of the local tipple with no worries about parking or traffic jams.
Tickets for the event are available from the Glastonbury Abbey website or the Abbey shop and are expected to sell out quickly, as they always do.
Coach departs Old Oaks at 4.30pm. (subject to change when full details of event are available).
Returns from coach park (5 mins from Abbey) at 11.15pm
